Rosh Hashanah Greetings, a Sweet New Year, and a Honey Cake Recipe

As we approach the joyous occasion of Rosh Hashanah, Ari's would like to extend our warmest wishes for a sweet and prosperous new year. May this time be filled with blessings, good health, and happiness.



And as a special treat, here's a simple honey cake recipe you can enjoy at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup honey

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the honey, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and oil until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the hot water, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.   

  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
